Our Treatment Room
Our newly refurbished treatment rooms at Emerald Medical Centre are fully equipped to allow our GPs to perform a range of minor surgical procedures in a safe and comfortable setting. These include:
-
Skin lesion biopsy or removal
-
Removal of small lumps and bumps
-
Ingrown toenail resection
Before any procedure, you’ll need a consultation with your GP to discuss the best management plan for your care.
Please note that all medical procedures, including cryotherapy, attract a private fee regardless of concession or Healthcare Card status. Medicare rebates are available, and payment is required on the day of your appointment. An additional minimum $25 utility fee applies to cover the use of equipment, dressings, and consumables.
Your doctor will provide a clear outline of any fees involved before your procedure.

Dressing and Wound Management
Our experienced nursing team at Emerald Medical Centre provides expert care for all types of wounds, from minor cuts and surgical wounds to ongoing management of chronic or complex wounds. We focus on promoting healing, preventing infection, and supporting your recovery with the most appropriate dressings and care.
Please note a $25 utility fee applies to cover the cost of materials used for each dressing.
Cryotherapy
At Emerald Medical Centre, we offer liquid nitrogen therapy (cryotherapy) as a simple and effective treatment for a range of skin concerns, including warts, sun-damaged spots, and skin tags. The treatment involves applying liquid nitrogen to the affected area, which may cause some temporary discomfort. In some cases, repeat treatments are needed for the best results.
As cryotherapy is not funded by Medicare, a $10 out-of-pocket fee applies to cover the cost of providing this service.
Ear Syringing
All of our doctors at Emerald Medical Centre are able to perform ear syringing to help safely remove a build-up of earwax. To ensure the procedure is effective and comfortable, you’ll need to prepare your ears beforehand. Please phone the clinic prior to your appointment, and our team will provide instructions on how to get ready.
