Wound Care & Dressings

Wound Care at Emerald Medical Centre

Our practice nurses, working with your GP, provide wound care and dressings in our treatment room, from cuts, grazes and minor burns to post-operative wounds, skin procedure sites and slow-healing (chronic) wounds such as leg ulcers. We can also remove stitches.

Keeping a wound clean and properly dressed helps it heal and lowers the risk of infection. Your first appointment is with a GP, who will assess the wound and set a care plan. Follow-up dressing changes are then booked with our nurses, and your GP will keep reviewing your progress. Please call (03) 5968 4622 to book nurse appointments.

For deep, heavily bleeding or serious wounds, go to your nearest emergency department or call 000.
